Indoor Air Quality: Wildfires
Check your local air quality at https://www.airnow.gov
Keep doors and windows closed when air quality if poor.
Use at least MERV-13 air filters in HVAC systems and replace them frequently. High-particulate air in wildfire smoke clogs filters more quickly and can overwhelm heating and air conditioning units.
Vacuum horizontal surfaces inside your home with a HEPA-filter vacuum more frequently.
Once air quality conditions improve, increase fresh-air intake to turnover any stale interior air.
